The difference between a cracked screen and a broken LCD screen
There is not much worse than the sound of your smartphone or tablet hitting the floor. While screens are designed to withstand some damage from falls, sometimes you still find yourself victim of a broken screen. Whether your device has been dropped, scratched, or experiencing slow touch/screen response, FiXiT Mobile Repair can return your devices to like-new condition.
Mobile device screens are typically made up of two thin layers–a glass screen, and a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). While the surface glass of your display is responsible for protecting, viewing and giving you a smooth touch experience, the LCD is important for the visual quality and responsive touch of your device.
What To Look For?
If your surface glass is cracked, shattered, or scratched, the LCD screen may still be in working order. You can identify whether or not your LCD screen has been damaged by looking for the following:
• out-of-place lines, scratches, or patterns appearing on the screen
• black spots or blurred / discoloured areas of your screen, or
• a totally black screen
